One of the most southern points of Spain. The rocks are Jurassic limestone. At this point, the formation extends from the peak of Gibraltar rock (421 meters) down into the strait. Likely, the same rock typology can be found one the other side. About 5.5 million years ago, the Atlantic breached into to Medditeranean basin (Alboran sea).
