In this temporary location a huge amount of small bivalves and gastropods. Also fairly large sea urchin spines like these could be found.

Taxonomy [explanation]
Superregnum: Eukaryota Woese et al. 1990
Regnum: Animalia Linnaeus, 1758
Phylum: Chordata Haeckel, 1847
Subphylum: Vertebrata Lamarck, 1801
Infraphylum: Gnathostomata Gegenbauer, 1874
Classis: Chondrichthyes Huxley, 1880
Subclassis: Elasmobranchii Bonaparte, 1838
Superordo: Selachimorpha Nelson, 1994
Species: Anotodus retroflexus (Agassiz, 1843)

Comments:
This find comes from the same place as the vorax which is also in the identification system. Not Heist-op-den-Berg, but only a few kilometers away. It is not clear to me so far what sands it is about. The amount of marine mammal bones is more reminiscent of the Sands of Antwerp or Edegem. The amount (rather scarce) of shark teeth and the state of otoliths and the closeness point to the Sands of Zonderschot. The color of the fossils is very different compared to teeth found roughly 5 km further away (cf. hastalis and escheri from the Nete).

Comments:
This Carcharias vorax was found by myself in a huge temporary location, not far from Heist-op-den-Berg. The site is now a recreational area and the fossil layers are permanently under water.

Gift specimen. Like the escheri emerged with the dredging of river "Grote Nete".
