Geology site description:

The Joggins Fossil Cliffs are at the Unesco World Heritage list. In the 15 kilometers of cliffs, sediments from the Carboniferous period are exposed.

On the beach many fossils can be seen, even large pieces of fossil trees.  About 200 species of Plants, vertebrates and invertabrate animals are known from this site.

In the Fossil Centre in Joggins the is an exhibition about the local geology.

Be careful about the very high tides here. Takin fossils from the park is strictly forbidden.

Joggins is located on the Nova Scotia Island at the eastcoast of Canada. The cliffs are at the nortwest coast of the island.
