Location description

Limestone from the Verulam Formation from the lower Ordovician era is exposed in the James Dick quarry in Gamebridge. Various types of fossils can be found in these marine deposits. Especially the beautiful trilobites and crinoids are renowned. Inbetween the limestone there are thin layers of shale with well-preserved fossils.

Gamebridge is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Simcoe, north of Toronto in the state of Ontario. The quarry is located west of the town.
