Location description

In the National Limestone quarry near Mount Pleasant Mills, limestone from the Tonoloway formation from the lower Silurian period is exposed. Sandstone is also exposed. The best finds come from the upper layers in the quarry. The sediments here are heavily folded. Local geological societies regularly organize trips to this quarry.
