Location description

At the Polish coast of the Gdańsk bay you can find amber on the beaches. The best season is in the winter after a storm. Nets are used to collect amber here.

Undersea layers contain the amber (petrified tree resin) from the Eocene, part of the Paleogene period. After storms the amber washes ashore.

Sometimes the amber contains flies or other insects.
