Location description

Near Rátka are quarries where they are digging in volcanic sediments from the Tortonian, Miocene (Part of the Neogene period). The volcanic sediments were deposited in a lake. Plant remains were trapped in the sediments. The silica rich water preserved the internal structure odf the wood and plant remains.
