Location description

In the past many fossils were found in the small quarry in Berg en Terblijt. Until 1998 limestone was extracted by the company of the Blom family. Limestone (Nekum member) was quarried to 80 meters deep. Today the quarry is a nature reserve and collecting is not possible anymore. In the past the most beautifull fossils were found in the upper layers of the Maastricht formation..
