Location description

On the island of Ivö in a lake in southern Sweden, limestones from the Campanian and Maastrichtian (part of the Cretaceous period) are exposed. You can find various types of fossils here.

Ivö is located in the south of Sweden, about 20 kilometres northeast of Kristianstad. Ivö is an island in a lake. You have to use a small ferry from the village of Barum to go there. In the north of the island the limestone is exposed. Follow the signs for Ivö Klack.
