You can travel to Helgoland by ferry from the Eemshaven (The Netherlands) in summer and from Wilhelmshafen in Germany. From The Netherlands it takes about 5 hours.

Interesting are the small cavaties in the Triassic Buntsandstein, in which calcite and chrysocol are developed. The combination with the red matrix results in spectecular pieces.
