Location description:

The Grube Clara you can search for minerals for a fee. A wealth of types of minerals can be found here. See also http://www.mineralienhalde.de/ for more information.

Also very nice for young and older children. Hammers and safety goggles can be used free. Every day much fresh material. Explanation is given what can be found on each heap. Often experienced mineral \"hunters\" are also digging and often sharing nice finds with all.

Kirnbach is located in the Black Forest in southwestern Germany. The region is located southeast of Strasbourg. The Grube Clara is located between Wolfach and Gutach.

In the quarry are more than 400 kinds of minerals have been found. A huge variety. The most common types are Azurite, Barite, Chrysokoll, Claraite, Cornwallite, Fluorite, Goethite, Klinoclase, Copper, Malachite, Pyrite, Pyromorphite, Mimetesite, Stolzite, Silver and Skorodite.
