Geology site description:
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park consists of a spectacular karst landscape in the mountains. Beneath the ground lies a cave system with an 8 kilometer long underground river that was discovered only in 2010. In the caves you can admire many stalactites and stalagmites. The river flows out of the cave directly into the sea. A part of the cave contains brackish water.
The park and the cave is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The cave is open to the public but must be booked in advance. See the Website.
