Geology site description:

The Kravika cascades in Bosnia were formed by carbonated water flowing to the surface. As the carbon dioxide escapes at the surface, carbonate is deposited as travertine

Travertine deposits on plant material and other travertine. Over the course of thousands of years, a travertine dam formed in this valley. At Kravika, the waterfalls flow over this travertine dam.
