Near the town of Nogayty, Upper Cretaceous strata are outrcropping. These strata are rich in shark teeth.
In the commercial fossil trade, the name of this locality is often misspelled as "Nugaity".

Nogayty lies in the southern area of the Ural Mountains, in the region of Aktobe. The town is situated along the A27, between Sagiz and Karauilqeldi.
