At Baron there used to be an old quarry with the Barthonian layers Sables de Beauchamps -Niveau a Cérithium tiarella - Niveau a Cérithium tuberculosum, Sables d'Ermenonville -Niveau a Potamides mixtus and the Sables de Guépelle -Niveau a Batillaria bouei - Niveau a Bayania lactea.This location is situated in the Paris Basin and comprises mollusc faunas characteristic for this basin.
Nowadays, this quarry has been turned into a landfill.

Baron is situated about 12 km east-southeast of Senlis. The quarry was on the western side of the D100, about 2.5 km south of Baron.
