Often these are temporary outcrops during roadworks and construction works. At several locations in the forests of Park Krajobrazowy Dolinki Krakowskie and Tenczyński Park Krajobrazowy small pits have been made to reach to the fossil-rich Callovian layers. The Callovian outcrops reach from close to Krakow up to Balin.
