Finds

Fossils are frequently abundant in the ironstone, particularly in the topmost 1–2 m (part of the Obtusum Zone). These layers are famous for their bivalves and ammonites, often characterized by a beautiful moss-green colour.

In the quarries, the Frodingham Ironstone Member of the Scunthorpe Mudstone Formation and the lowermost part of the Charmouth Mudstone Formation are outrcopping.

There are 1 photographs of fossils from this location in our Fossil ID System.
