Northeast of Hannappes in the french Ardennes department, there are limestone exposures from the Bathonian age in a disused quarry.
In the upper part of the excavation in the yellowish limestones, you can see a 50 cm thick horizontal layer which is particularly rich in fossils. Mainly Burmirhynchia decorata can be found in great numbers. This species is typical for the Bathonian.

The town of Hannappes lies in the north of France, in the Ardennes department, just east of the border with the Aisne department. The main road (D27) makes a sharp turn in the village. Here, you follow the narrow 'Rue de l'Église' northeast. The locality is about 600m further, at the right hand side of the road.

Brachiopods (mainly Burmirhynchia decorata Schlotheim, 1820), gastropods, corals and sea urchins.
