Location description

In Tabligbo in Togo phosforite is extracted in an open pit mine on a large scale. In the phosphate deposits various types of fossils are present. Also limestone for cement production is being quarried. The phosphorite comes from the Maastrichtian (Cretaceous period) to Eocene (Paleogene period).
