Location description

At the Coon Creek Science Center it is possible to search the sandy marls from the Maastrichtian, part of the upper Cretaceous fossils. These are shallow marine deposits. Access is only possible for groups by appointment. Geological clubs sometimes organize trips to this location. Coon Creek Science Center is part of the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis. Coon Creek Science Center is located about 50 kilometers southeast of Jackson in the southwest of the state of Tennessee.
