Until the mid 20th century limestone was extracted in this old quarry. The limestone originates from the Kimmeridgian, wich is part of the Jurassic era. The fossil-bearing strata are located halfway up in the quarry. Use the pathway, climbing the walls of this quarry is dangerous.
