Location description

Huge quarry in the white Jurassic (Oxfordien, Kimmeridgien, old Malm beta 1 to Malm delta 1). Many steep walls - dangerous. Rich in fossils, in particular the upper parts.

A permit can be obtained at the firm Meichle & Mohr, Steigwiesen, 88090 Immenstaadt, tel 0049-7545-9318-0. Ask for dhr. Rudolf Mohr.

Geisingen lies north of the Bodensee, between Donaueschingen and Tuttlingen. Easy to reach over the A 81, exit Geisingen. Then follow the B 311 in the direction of Tuttlingen, and immediately to the right in the direction of Geisingen. Now take the first graded road to the right. After a while you reach a parking spot at the top of the hill.
