Location description

Near Fort Mitchell is a roadcut where shales and limestone from the Kope formation from the upper Ordovician period is exposed. Here you can find various fossils.

Fort Michell is located in the north of Kentucky, south of Cincinatti. The exposure is located at the Orphanage Road, parallel to highway 275 at the southend of Mitchell.

Brachiopods, crinoids, graptolites, trilobites (i.e. Triarthrus eatoni and Isotelus maximus), tralobite tracks, corals, bryozoans.
