Location description

Near Kücknitz is a sand and pebble quarry were fossils from many periods can be found. In the iceages boulders from Scandinavia, Denmark and local sediments were mixed together. The famous brown Holsteiner gestein can be found here. This is a local sediment from the Miocene, part of the Neogene period.
