Location description

Near Tambach-Dietharz is an old quarry named Bromacker where red sandstone was quarried. Here many dinosaur remains were found from the lower Permian period (Tambach formation). Now there is a special learning path to learn about the geology and finds from the area. In a special marked area you can look for fossils yourself. In the lower part of the quarry trace fossils are found. In the upper part of the quarry parts of skeletons were found in a number of levels.
