In the Römersteinbruch quarry in St. Margarethen fossils from the Badenian, middle Miocene (part of the Neogene period) are found in the Leithakalk limestone. In the quarry reef sediments are exposed. The largest part of the quarry is now a park where collect is not allowed. In the rest of the quarry fossils can still be found.
