Location description

In the region of Turnu Rosu sediments from the Oligocene and Eocene, Part of the Paleogene period are exposed. The deposits contain fossil shark teeth and other fossils. Specific collecting sites are not known.

A fossil collection from the area is located in the Brukenthal national museum in nearby Sibiu. http://www.brukenthalmuseum.ro/
