Location description

At a ground dump site near Wellendingen fossils can be found. The fossils are mainly from the black Jurassic period (Lias alpha). The finds depend on the recent ground dumps at the site. Because it is a dumping ground, there is no stratigraphy for this site. Common Gryphaea comes mainly from the shallow marine sediments from the Lias period.
