Location description

In the Big Brook river fossils from the upper Cretaceous period are eroded from the underlying sediments. You can collect in the river beds, or sieve the material.

This locality is located in the east of New Jersey.

Most known finds are shark teeth, but other fossils are found too: Brachiopods, fish teeth, parts of turtles and Mosasaur. Dinosaurbones are rare. Fossil mammal bones from the Pleistocene can also be found at this locality.
