In the Hanson quarry in Ohio, you can collect fossils at the "Fossil park". Fresh truckloads of rock regularly are dumped in the collecting area. See the website http://www.olanderpk.com/XFER/info_fossil.html for more information.
The soft shales and limestone are from the middle Devonian period. More precise the Silica formation. The other quarries in thge area are not open to fossil collectors.

The Hanson quarry is located near Sylvania, northwest of Toledo, in the American state of Ohio. The quarry is located at "Centennial road".
