On the Greek island of Kos you can find various fossils in the limestones from the Miocene and Pliocene (part of the Neogene period). In almost all outcrops here you can find bivalves amongst other fossils.
NOTE! Fossil collection is not allowed in Greece. In the law there is no distinction between archeological finds and fossils. It can lead to problems at the customs. At your own risk!

Kos is an island in the southeast of Greece, near Turkey. The location is close to the only camping on Kos in the hills knows as Heracles (Iraklis in Greek). At the eastern side of the island there are many building sites. Here you can look for fossils.
