Sea Urchin Echinolampas ovalis
Marine mammals live in the sea, but are descended from terrestrial mammals. Because they breathe air, they usually live close to the sea surface and/or in coastal areas. Common examples of marine mammals are dolphins and whales, sea lions and manatees. It's a diverse group that has no single common ancestor. The return of mammals to the sea took place on several occasions in evolutionary history. Whale ancestors, for example, returned to marine habitats from the eocene.
