A gravel layer is a clastic sediment that contains rounded stones in a finer matrix. This sediment often occurs in rivers with a steep gradient, where degradation sediments like stones, and rocks are transported by erosion of mountains. When this sediment has hardened, it’s called “conglomerate”.
