Comments:
The stratification (limestone from the Jurassic period) in the picture shows a clear cyclicity. This regularly thinning and thickening of the layers may be caused by periodic changes in the position of the Earth's axis, such as, for example, the Milankovich cycles. The harder limestone represent a period of shallower sea level than the softer marly layers that reflect a deeper depositional environment.

Comments:
Horizontal layering with alternating layers of clay and sand. The slightly greener band is due to the precipitation of an algae bloom. The excavated layer is a layer in which Septaria can be found.

Comments:
Tilted layers at Eparchiaki Odos Kalavardas-Empona. In this picture you see alternating harder and softer layers. That could be caused by variations in water depth during the deposition of the sediment.

Comments:
Beautiful layered formation along the road from Villajoyosa to Alcoy, left of the village of Sella. The ligt on the flanks of the Sierra d, Aitana and consists mainly of Cretaceous limestone. The colors were probably formed by minerals. The direction of pressure which tilted the layers was North-South.

Comments:
Orcheta is located on the Rio Amadoro (Costa Blanca). Here you will find a reservoir. On the west side there is the tilted deposit of alternating marl and limestone (Albian-Senonian). The material also contains microfossils, these can be found on the waterfront (beaches). There are also teeth from mainly small lizard species. Many foraminifera. The site is located on the Amadoro Fault Line. Excursion from Benidorm is possible.
