Comments:
left valve. Early-Holocene and late-Pleistocene specimens of O. edulis from the North Sea shores are often blue-grey colored and can be very big and thick-walled. These kind of specimens can be found all along the coasts of the Netherlands.

Comments:
Left valve. Ostrea edulis is really common in Pleistocene and Holocene marine deposits in the Dutch subsurface. Pliocene specimens are distinguishable because they are generally smaller, more thin-walled and have less-developed sculpture. They have a characteristic brown-grey color.
