Great site! Thanks for translating it into English. Just a small request: In the introduction in the English section, would you be kind enough to translate "Wat is een fossiel" to "What is a fossil", please. I'm sure it was an oversight on your part. Thanks in anticipation. I'd like to link some of your pages to the page on Fossils that I've constructed for my students if that's OK. Coby

Very cool site, Herman- especially as I've now found the English translation section! I'm the samd David Cassel as in the last comment... I'd very much like to get a couple examples of Corycium enigmaticum for my colleection. Thank you!

12-14-2004

I can't read anything! My name is David Cassel and I collect fossil echinoids and also Precambrian life and medusoids. I would like to swap! I live in Calif, USA, and I have a lot of interesting material to swap!

I checked the other found places of Finland. Conycium Enegmaticum has been found in Aitolahti area, near the city of Tammerfors, Stromatolites from Tervola och Tornio (near the border of Sweden). There are microfossils in the meteor crater of Lappajärvi and in the Muhos and Hailuoto areas. Single fossils have been found in Pyhämaa (Orthoceras), Eurajoki (some cambrian brachipoids), and mammoth bones from nine different places.

09-02-2004

There is not many fossil collecting places in Finland. In Ahvenanmaa (Åland) there is silurian and ordovician limestone, including trilobites (Asaphus Fennicus, Ilianeus Chiron etc.) corals, brachiopoids and orthoceras. In the main area of Finland there is some areas where man can find stromatolites, microfossils and mystic Corycium Enegmaticum carbon fossils from precambrian age.
