The most difficult part is to identify your fossil. Of
course you can read a lot about fossils in books about fossils.
To find out the exact scientific name is often very difficult.
You probably have to work through piles of scientific papers.
These scientific papers often are hard to come by. The best
thing you can do is to get in touch with other fossil hunters
at a geological club or association.
It is very important to make notes about the exact layer
and locating when you find a fossil. Without this information
it is often impossible to identify your fossils.
